The total wattage of the lamps must not exceed the wattage of the transformer. The maximum distance between the transformer and the 12 volt lamp must not exceed two metres. The transformer must not be positioned closer than 200mm to the lamp. The transformer must not be positioned near central heating pipes or covered with insulation. All the transformers may be installed with suitable dimming equipment. One 60 watt transformer will operate a 50 watt halogen lamp or 3 x 20 watt 12 volt halogen lamps. One 210 watt transformer will operate 4 x 50 watt 12 volt halogen lamps. Use the same lengths of cable between each lamp and the transformer. The lamps should be wired in parallel.
